Randstad is currently on the hunt for a Project Manager (Product Development) for our manufacturing clients located in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne.
You will be joining a business that is Australia wide and well established, operating for 30+ years.
... As the new Project Manager (Product Development) you will be given the opportunity to work with Divisional representatives and customers to develop new products or modify existing products.
YOUR DAY TO DAY:
- In line with the business and Divisional deliverables, assist the divisions in the development of products
- Coordinate the development of products that result in improved functionality, reduced cost to produce and maintain over their lifespan.
- Provide CAD models and technical drawings when required
- Perform or oversee engineering performed
- Maintain and monitor product revisions to ensure appropriate controls are exercised to maintain product and design integrity.
- Develop and adhere to project timelines with regular communication to key stakeholders.
- Coordinate the sharing of information as required between Sales, Finance, Projects and Operations to support the development and delivery of prototypes and products.
- Take responsibility for the definition, documentation, and satisfactory completion of container projects in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Preparation accurate project costing
- Preparation and maintenance of project plans providing variance and slippage data against project milestones
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
- At least 4-5 years' experience in a mechanical design and engineering role ideally within the industrial or containerised business sector.
- Demonstrated success developing design and/or delivering products that align with target sectors and company objectives.
- Demonstrated experience SolidWorks or equivalent software packages.
- Thorough understanding of ISO standards, Australian standards, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Ability to proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships within all areas of a business.
- Ability to set and operate within defined budgetary constraints and experience with allocating spend.
- Experience in product delivery and project management.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred with exposure to manufacture in China is an advantage\
- Mechanical Engineering Degree
